  • Marcus Mariota faces more uncertainty in 2018 · Jan 18, 2018

The Titan's next head coach will be Mariota's third since since his 1.02 selection in 2015

Head coach Mike Mularkey is out and a new head coach will be coming in. A head coach can have a material impact on the performance of any player but even moreso for the starting quarterback. Mariota, who just completed his third year in the NFL, regressed in all meaningful statistical categories in 2017, his touchdown total cut in half from 26 to 13. If that wasn't bad enough, he'll now have to clear yet another hurdle as he acclimates to a new head coach. Receiver Corey Davis is beginning to emerge and the Titans will likely tab running back, Derrick Henry, as the starter, making for a young and exciting trio at the skill positions. Mariota currently occupies the QB9 slot in DLF's dynasty rankings but his 2017 ADP History shows an unsurprising decline in value from the start of the 2017 season. He concluded 2017 as the QB18 in fantasy. He's a back end QB1 but best suited as an upside QB2 in dynasty until he shows more consistency and Tennessee lands a head coach that can maximize his talents in space. He's a buy-low candidate for coaches willing to roll the dice.

  • Marcus Mariota can't carry Titans in Foxborough · Jan 15, 2018

Marcus Mariota threw for 254 yards and two scores, plus ran for 37 more yards on the ground against the Patriots. That wasn't enough to lift the Titans to victory.

Marcus Mariota has been flat out misused, mistreated, and flat out ignored by his coaches in Tennessee. The Titans had the best offensive weapons they've put together in years in 2017, but still couldn't put together a consistent offense. A lot of people want to say that Mariota regressed in 2017. It was mainly poor coaching and his health that held him back from taking the next steps in development. Hopefully 2018 brings about some offensive change in scheme for the Titans. If that happens Mariota will be a great buy. If not, the Titans are doomed for mediocrity yet again.

  • Marcus Mariota leads huge Titans comeback at KC · Jan 7, 2018

Marcus Mariota threw for 205 yards, two touchdowns (including one to himself), and ran for 46 yards in the 18-point comeback win over the Chiefs.

Mariota had the worst season of his career in 2017, but absolutely put the Titans on his back against the Chiefs this week. If the Titans can add another young RB and other young Titans continue to develop Mariota could be in for the biggest bounce back in the NFL. Dynasty owners are fickle. Go do a quick price check on acquiring Mariota. If he doesn't blow it up in any other playoff games he may go pretty cheap this off-season.

  • Mariota fails to seal the deal against the Rams · Dec 25, 2017

Marcus Mariota failed to throw a touchdown pass in the Titans loss to the Rams on Sunday. He threw an interception early in the game as well.

Marcus Mariota can look unbelievable at times, and then two plays later throw the most embarrassing interception you have ever seen. 2017 will likely go down in Mariota's career as his worst season ever. It's clear he has been somewhat hobbled with various injuries since the start of the season. The team has even confirmed this. Mariota is a great buy-low candidate right now considering his offensive coaching staff may be fresh and not embarrassingly awful next year.

  • Marcus Mariota throws two INTs as Titans struggle. · Dec 11, 2017

Marcus Mariota threw two interceptions against the Cardinals. That brings his season total to 14. The entire Titans offense struggled to score outside of an early Derrick Henry touchdown.

Marcus Mariota has had his hands tied behind his back all season long. In fact, the entire Titans offense has underwhelmed in 2017, and it is 100% the fault of horrible play-calling and scheme. The Titans should just miss the playoffs entirely so they can rid themselves of Mularkey and the 1970s scheme that has tortured fans and dynasty owners all season. If Mularkey is around in 2018 you can go ahead and toss Mariota and all other offensive Titans in the dynasty dumpster.

  • A healthy Mariota gets the job done. · Nov 7, 2017

Mariota threw for 218 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and ran for six yards in the Titans' victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Mariota has struggled to find his groove this season. Part of it had to do with his hamstring issue. The running game hasn't been as successful either. However, it may be time to call Mariota what he is: an above average NFL starter that can be dangerous when teams don't account for his mobility. He doesn't need to be considered a top 6-8 dynasty quarterback anymore. This is coming from a Titans fan that loves Mariota.

  • Marcus Mariota injures hamstring. · Oct 2, 2017

Mariota left the Sunday's game early after injuring a hamstring on his second rushing touchdown of the day.

Marcus Mariota struggled through the air on Sunday, but showed why his duel-threat ability is a force to be reckoned with. If he misses extended time with his hamstring injury all Titans can be benched indefinitely. It also may open a buy low window from win-now owners that get antsy with Mariota on their bench.

  • Marcus Mariota injures his hamstring · Oct 2, 2017

Marcus Mariota injured his hamstring in the Titans blowout loss to the Texans.

Uh oh. Mariota was likely taken out as a precaution in a blowout loss but this is a serious concern for his owners as hamstring injuries tend to linger. Mariota will get an MRI on Monday and dynasty owners will be waiting on pins and needles. He had an up and down performance on Sunday with two rushing touchdowns and two interceptions.

  • Marcus Mariota handles Panthers · Aug 19, 2017

Marcus Mariota completed 6-of-8 passes for 61 yards and one touchdown in the Titans second preseason game.

From the looks of it, the only thing keeping Mariota from a real asset in dynasty leagues as a plug and play quarterback is his health. Mariota looked like he was in complete control, hitting receivers in stride and commanding the offense like a seasoned veteran. With Corey Davis still sitting out, the Titans offense still looked great against Carolina. When Davis returns, this has the looks of an offense that can put up points in a hurry.

  • Titans Continue to Load Up on Weapons for Mariota · Apr 29, 2017

The Titans add another WR through the draft, this time picking Taywan Taylor, Western Kentucky.

Mariota is the big winner so far. Not only does he get a true WR1 at the top of the draft in Corey Davis, but then they add Taylor, who should be a nice complimentary receiver with deep speed to take the top off the defense. Rishard Matthews should have a nice role as well, with Delanie Walker almost certainly losing targets in the process.
