  • Kareem Hunt to be more involved as a receiver · Aug 7, 2018

ESPN Staff Writer Adam Teicher says the Chiefs hope to get Hunt more involved as a receiver than he was in 2017

Hunt played on only 33% of KC's third-down plays in 2017, largely due to concerns about pass blocking. While he did struggle early, he improved as the season went on and it's a focus during this year's camp, though, that didn't stop him from "whiffing" an attempt in a recent one-on-one drill. That all said, it stands to reason the Chiefs will want Hunt to be on the field as much as possible as their most dynamic running threat. As DLF's RB7 with an ADP of 11, Hunt still produced 53 receptions for 455 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. Any material increase in receptions would be well received by dynasty owners and his recent slip in value could see upside. The Chiefs now have a dynamic offense after adding receiver Sammy Watkins and elevating quarterback Patrick Mahomes to the starting role. Safeties won't be able to crowd the box as they respect the pass. This could bode well for Hunt heading into his sophomore season.

  • Hunt surpasses 100 scrimmage yards yet again · Oct 16, 2017

Kareem Hunt rushed nine times for 21 yards and caught five of six targets for 89 yards in Kansas City's 19-13 loss to the Steelers.

After beginning his career with six touchdowns in his first three games, Hunt failed to reach the end zone for the third consecutive week. However, despite being bottled up on the ground, Hunt continued to compile fantasy points in droves via his involvement in the passing game. Even in games where the Chiefs are trailing, Hunt is proving that he'll be heavily relied upon. He's reached 100 scrimmage yards in each game this season. Hunt is a dynasty RB1.

  • Kareem Hunt continues to excel · Sep 27, 2017

Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt ran for 172 yards on 17 attempts, including a 69 yard touchdown run.

After three weeks, Hunt is now 12th among all running backs in touches per game. However, he leads all running backs with 96.8 points in PPR. The obvious concern when we see this level of production is regression. If we project out this pace, he will go over 500 points in PPR which would be absolutely insane and nothing like we have ever seen. So while regression is certainly expected, let's put some numbers to what that might look like. Currently, he is averaging 32.3 points per game. A 40% regression would still put Hunt on a 300 point season pace! In dynasty, I tend to ride these overachieving performances and simply take the winning in hand. If you are looking to trade him away, I recommend targeting an upper echelon wide receiver and not simply "selling" for pieces.

  • Kareem Hunt destroys the Patriots · Sep 8, 2017

Kareem Hunt had 148 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards and scored three touchdowns on opening night.

Hunt set an NFL record for most yards from scrimmage (256) in an NFL debut. Things started out roughly as he fumbled his first carry. It was all gravy from there as he showed explosiveness and power as he picked up chunk after chunk. It's only one game and we can't overreact but New England had no answers for him. Hunt has the look of a future star in reality and fantasy.

  • Kareem Hunt explodes against the Bengals · Aug 20, 2017

Kareem Hunt posted 40 rushing yards on eight carries and had 23 receiving yards on three catches in the Chiefs second preseason game.

Owners who have gambled on Hunt by taking him in the mid-to-late first round of rookie drafts were hoping for a performance just like this and saw just how explosive Hunt can be. Spencer Ware only played one snap and the Bengals first team defense really had few answers for Hunt. This was an impressive performance.

16 Pete Lawrence, 08/15 Kareem Hunt produced a fantastic season as a rookie. How will losing his OC and the return of Spencer Ware impact Hunt in 2018 though? Hunt would be a few spots higher for me if there weren’t so many questions surrounding his situation.
18 Travis May, 07/29 Great start to a solid career. He may never have another 2017 though.
